Miranda
Reception/Administration
I started with Becky and the Total Physiotherapy Team in July 2015, after returning to the workforce from having a family, and have thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of the busy reception/admin role.
With 2 young kids I enjoy family time and a range of outdoor activities. I have played Indoor Cricket for NZ and represented Otago in outdoor Cricket, plus at Uni studied my degree in Business Management while on a sports scholarship - so have had my share of time on the physio table :) These days I enjoy running and completed my first half marathon last year and will aim for the Auckland half this year.
Gemma Ellis
Senior Physiotherapist
Gemma graduated from Sheffield Hallam University with a BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy degree in 2009. Gemma is registered with Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), and has been a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) until January this year. She is now a member of Physiotherapy New Zealand (PNZ), the reason for this being that she is currently in New Zealand for the next year hoping hoping to gain further Physiotherapy experience overseas. Gemma holds a current Annual Practising Certificate (APC) with the Physiotherapy Board of New Zealand.
"I have gained vast professional experience of working in the NHS and private sector, in a variety of settings including multidisciplinary rehabilitation units, musculoskeletal clinics, and sports settings working with several Rugby union and Rugby sevens teams. I have helped to set up and develop award winning Physiotherapy services. I have gained a broad spectrum of Physiotherapy skills across the three core areas of Physiotherapy (musculoskeletal, neurology and respiratory), which enables me to have a very holistic approach. My particular areas of interest are rehabilitation (musculoskeletal and neurological), and sports injuries. My passion for sport and exercise has lead me into a career of Physiotherapy, and it is this keen interest in exercise therapy that has led me to gain further Pilates qualification. I am a Certified Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute (APPI) matwork instructor, and I have completed further CPD courses such as; Ante and Post natal Pilates, Pilates in Neurology, Pilates for Osteoporosis, Healthy HIT (High intensity) 1 and 2, and more. Furthermore I hold a postgraduate qualification in Acupuncture which I use to complement my manual Physiotherapy skills and exercise therapy. I have also completed many post graduate courses in areas such as manual therapy to develop my skills further. I am committed to continually developing as a professional."
Steph Bonner
Certified Canine Rehabilitation Therapist (BVSc, CCRT, PGCertSci)
In June we welcomed Stephanie into our animal rehabilitation team. Steph has been a small animal vet for 10 years working in England, Australia and New Zealand.
During her travels she attended an animal rehabilitation conference in Canada that sparked a special interest in animal rehabilitation. She completed her rehabilitation therapist training early this year and is proud to now be working in the field of canine rehabilitation as a certified therapist.
Steph is excited and passionate about rehabilitation and has already booked her next training trip to the US to learn more about Orthotics and Prosthetics - a rapidly advancing area and one that will give pets and owners many more options.
